May. 28th, 2009 08:33 amThis is my blatant pimp post for my fantasy novel The Gauntlet Thrown, which was finally completed last month after nearly a YEAR of editing and posting. The cover art was created by the fabulous
draykonis and is made of stunning WIN.
My partner in crime,
twasadark , and I have been publishing one chapter per week free over at
xcpublishing and our website here. Well, 38 chapters later the novel is FINISHED. *throws confetti* Also, we've just compiled it into one 342 page long file for easier reading. Here are the stats:
Title: The Gauntlet Thrown
Authors:
dysonrules &
twasadark
Fandom: None - original fiction
Genre: Gen
Rating: PG-13
Words: 162,000
Summary: Brydon's quest was simple. Borrow the fabled Gauntlet of Ven-Kerrick, bring it home to prove his worth, marry the princess, and ascend the throne.
He had planned for the dangerous terrain and Redolian assassins, but he did not count on slavers and werewolves. He did not expect the Gauntlet to be missing, nor to find the Kerrick royal family murdered, and he definitely did not anticipate the distractions of a sultry thief and a rescued slave girl.
Luckily, his worst enemy was there to help him out.

It's also still available chapter by chapter at
xcpublishing if you'd prefer to read it that way.
PS - Feel free to let your friends know, too. Oh, and if you want to friend the
xcpublishing comm that would make us squee with glee.
