Dec. 9th, 2010 11:13 amWOOHOO!!!! The gift written for meeeeeee for hd_holidays went up yesterday and it's made of awesomesauce! It's a nice twist on the whole "woke up from a night of drinking" fic, but with more of a mystery than usual because Harry has NO recollection of who might have left him a magical tattoo that reads "Thanks for the amazing night." A magical tattoo that can only be removed by the caster. So Harry sets about trying to recreate the events of the night before and ends up discovering quite a bit about himself, both good and bad. It's a really lovely read.

Amelioration Summary: Eight year fic. Harry and Draco return to school and everyone is so happy they start pranking each other until giant gingerbread men take over the school!!!!! Or something like that. I blamedraykonis for the gingerbread men.
Praxis Summary: EWE ten years after the war fic. Not terribly happy, but I'm not that great at angst, so it's not really that angsty, either, even though I sort of kill off everyone Harry knows... But he makes cool things! And Draco is awesome! (I wrote this fornovembersnow and if you haven't read her fics yet, OMG GO DO IT!!!)

Okay, on to SERIOUS MATTERS. Or not. So, I wrote Renaissance forhd_holidays and I know that many of you read it, got to the end, and then asked, "Wait a sec... who cast the spell on Harry?" Well, here is a long-ass explanation. Behind a cut, because I'm feeling generous and full of loveage today. WOOHOO!!!! Finally hd_holidays reveals are up! *bounces happily* I'm glad I didn't take any of those "which fic was mine" polls because I would have gotten them ALL WRONG. *is bad guesser* One thing I love about this fest is that I read a lot of fics by authors whose works I don't usually read. In fact, I don't usually read much of anything (too busy writing), but I make an effort for hd_hols because it normally brings out the best in the contributors. Many kudos to everyone who participated and now I can finally publicly worship red_rahl for drawing A Turkey and Some Mistletoe. SO FUCKING AWESOME!!!! She hit my kinks so hard with that one. I know everyone already knew it was hers, but in the spirit of "anon" we're not allowed to say.
On an unrelated note, it's fricking POURING here like WHOA. Driving to and from the train station was an adventure. In boating. There is standing water in places where no water should stand. Move along water, get thee to the damn ocean and stop trying to push me off the road into the ditch. Because ditches would involve phone calls to angry people and frankly, every moment spent not talking to HIM is a good moment. You know, near record snow levels, lots of cruddy ice and slush, and now Noah-would-be-proud rain is making me rather annoyed. Can we have normal cloudy, crappy, mostly rainy weather now? Please?

enchanted_jae I laughed so hard when I got this, mostly thinking about the TIME it had to have taken to draw Harry and Draco in PAINT. It probably would have taken you way shorter time to draw it by hand, lol! *hugs hard* I'm totally scanning this to show the flist.
isinuyasha I can't believe you sent this all the way across the ocean! *is awed* AND it has a beautiful drawing of the boys inside. SO awesome.
