ON WRITING. AND STUFF.
Feb. 25th, 2011 02:33 pmFirstly, to everyone who gave me love at
arineat 's H/D ANON LOVE MEME, I just want to tie you up and cover you with CHOCOLATE and then sent hot boys (or girls) of your choice to lick it off.
I LOVE YOU GUYS
AND THIS FANDOM
SO VERY VERY MUCH.
Some of the comments made me sniffly and left me feeling even more giddy than usual for many days. (And we all know how giddy I usually am, so yes, that is a LOT.)
Also, we have DISCUSSIONS!
Firstly, there is a PORN discussion over at
insaners , which also contains a handy-dandy link to our favourite porn sites. Feel free to join in, link, chat, and so forth.
Next, there is an interesting discussion about H/D inclusive of canon at
adjudicated 's journal HERE.
Finally, for my own blathering about writing, I was in a massive slump from October through um... January. It finally occurred to me the other day that part of my MEH attitude about sitting my arse down and writing was the fact that my radio station had a format change around that time. They went from playing awesome new rock n' roll to playing WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? I don't even comprehend the jumble of bullcrap they now play (which is apparently targeted to females in my age range - FAIL!!!!) and I stopped listening after approximately 25 minutes of torture. My problem is that radio in Seattle SUCKS. Every station seems to feel they can only play 25 songs. Over and over. I've been forced to listen to my pre-teens' horrible pop station (if I hear Tik Tok one more time I might actually turn homicidal) because the alternative is the same 25 country songs (on various stations) the same 25 classic rock songs (on a handful of stations) or a few stations that play a "mix" of the same 25 pop/classic rock/soft rock tunes. *sobs* Kill me now.
Anyway, all that blathering is to say that I was driving home the other night and miraculously heard *gasp* A NEW SONG! It was very H/D applicable and it got the braincells firing. (Sorry, I have NO idea what the song was.) I realized that I had really been missing new music and being inspired by it. I don't generally write songfics, but I definitely utilize music as a way to evoke emotion, and certain songs can conjure up images of scenes that I later use in my fics. (The Escorts Trilogy was heavily influenced by Three Days Grace, which I had just discovered around the time I started writing it.) Now that I've located my deficiency, I've been trying to seek out new music online and load it up on my mp3 player, but I really miss being able to hop in the car, turn the key, and have brain melting screaming rock giving me new ideas. BUT I WILL PERSEVERE. So tell me, lovely f-list, what inspires you?
Also,
byaghro is made of stunning levels of awesomesauce and she needs to take care lest someone try to bottle her.
OH YES AND I AM MODDING H/D QUIDDITCH THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!! (go snakes) *cough*
