Fic Present for Draykonis Part One
Mar. 8th, 2009 07:28 amWe all know that
bryoneybrynn is the Queen of All Angst and she thought it would be fun to make
draykonis cry on her birthday so she wrote this fic for her:
Heart wrenching fic with no real name
It features Albus, Scorpius, and Jason from Rock On, but you don't really need to know any of the characters to enjoy the fic.
When I finished cryiing into my Frosted Flakes I wrote a sequel to make myself feel better.
Hugo breezed into the room with a smug look on his face. “I think I solved your problem,” he announced.
Scorpius looked up from the document he’d been scanning, although he had read the same paragraph at least six times. Reading was a misnomer, since what he’d actually been doing was brooding. The last sexual encounter with Albus and Jason had been the worst yet and despite his resolve to let it be, he just couldn’t stop tracking over it in his mind, wishing for a solution.
“What problem?” Scorpius asked dryly. He was alternately curious and terrified, because when Hugo turned his scientific mind toward a perceived “problem” the outcome could be more heinous than the original issue.
“Your Jason problem,” Hugo replied. Scorpius blinked at him for long moments, wondering how the hell Hugo could possibly know about Scorpius’s “Jason problem” when he hadn’t spoken a bloody word of it to anyone, preferring to angst in silence.
“What Jason problem?” he asked, just to clarify. For all he knew, Hugo could have been talking about Jason’s habit of hanging up the towels wrong when he left the shower. It was always best to make sure one knew exactly what Hugo meant, because assumptions could blow up in one’s face. Literally.
Hugo threw himself into a chair and snagged a yellow apple from the bowl of fruit on the table. “You know,” he replied. “The fact that merely being in the same room with Jason and watching him make puppy dog eyes at Albus is killing you. And the fact that your little threesomes with Jason and Al actually make you go into the bathroom afterwards and throw up, on occasion. Am I getting warm yet?” Hugo bit into the apple and watched him speculatively.
Scorpius narrowed his eyes. Fucking Hugo always knew far too much about all of them. It was uncanny. And disturbing.
“You did not tell Albus,” Scorpius snapped, feeling a sharp jolt of fear. If Albus knew their encounters with Jason was hurting Scorpius, he would put an immediate halt to them. Which would hurt Jason. And hurting Jason would hurt Albus. And Scorpius would rather die than hurt Albus, which was why he continued to put up with the torment.
Hugo snorted and crunched his mouthful slowly before swallowing. “Why would I do that? It would only lead to the Boss becoming maudlin, like you. Frankly, I’m tired of you moping around and brooding. Normally I don’t care, but it’s starting to affect me and that needs to stop.”
Scorpius glared. “How is it affecting you?”
“There were seventeen errors on that last potion analysis you sent me.”
Scorpius gasped. “There were not!” He frowned. Granted, he had been a bit distracted at the time, since Jason had been chatting with Albus, leaning close to Al’s beautiful dark head and putting his lips far too near to Al’s ear for Scorpius’s comfort…
“Seventeen,” Hugo repeated and took another bite.
“Fine, so I’ve been a bit distracted… Wait, you said solved.”
Hugo nodded. “Fixed,” he said, although it came out sounding like, “schmixed” with the fruit in his mouth.
Scorpius was glad he was sitting. “Out with it,” he said and dreaded the response.
At that moment the door slammed open and a blonde woman sauntered into the room. Scorpius blinked at her.
“Hi, Scorpius. Hugo, have you seen Lily? I need to get her opinion on these shoes. I just can’t decide if the red goes with this outfit or if I need something more dramatic. Navy, perhaps? Or green?” She twisted her hips to peer down at the red pumps that matched her clingy red dress. She was quite attractive, Scorpius noted, although he was certain he had never seen her before. How did she know him?
“She’s with Absinthe in the arsenal, probably,” Hugo replied casually.
“You’re right, I should have checked there first. Scorpius, what do you think? Does the red look all right?”
Something about the way she looked at him made the light click on for Scorpius. “Jason?” he breathed in a choked voice.
She rolled her eyes. “Please. It’s Jae. Never mind, I can’t trust a man for something like this. Not even you, Scorpius. Ta!”
With that, she spun and flounced out, leaving the door open. Scorpius gaped at the empty portal for a moment before turning to stare at Hugo.
“You turned Jason into a girl?”
Hugo shrugged. “I’m a genius.”
“How is that going to solve anything?” Scorpius demanded. “Albus will just make you turn him back!” Or worse, he thought. Invite her into their bed. He shuddered at the idea.
“Jason was all for it,” Hugo said. “He said he was tired of the whole unrequited love thing and figured it was only a matter of time before you stuck a knife between his ribs and then killed yourself in a fit of Malfoy drama. And then where would we all be? Stuck with a devastated, traumatized boss, that’s where.”
“Jason asked you to make him a girl?”
“Well, not exactly. He just asked me to fix him.”
Hugo finished his apple while Scorpius tried to think of a way to get Hugo to see reason, except that reason and Hugo had parted ways several years ago and very rarely made nodding acquaintance with one another these days.
He tried anyway. “Now Jason is a girl, but he’s still in love with Albus. So how does that fix him?”
“No, he’s not.” Hugo tossed the apple core toward the rubbish bin at the end of Score’s desk and missed. It pinged off the rim, bounced off the floor, and rolled under Al’s desk.
Scorpius sighed and got up to retrieve it. “Yes, he is a girl. I just saw him.”
“He’s not in love with Albus.”
Scorpius glared at him from his position on hands and knees. The stupid apple core was just out of reach of his grasping fingers. “How do you know?”
Lily stalked into the room just as Scorpius wrenched an arm muscle, but managed to grab the offending fruit remnant.
“Not funny, Hugo,” she snarled.
“What isn’t?” Hugo asked as he reached for another apple and polished it against his shirt.
“It’s bad enough you turned Jason into a girl, but now he’s making calf eyes at me! Make him stop! Her stop! It stop! Make it stop.”
Hugo smirked.
