Equity Part Twenty Eight
Jul. 7th, 2009 10:04 pmAdam stared at the phone in amazement, unable to believe that Stephen had called. After a moment of bemused stasis, he leaped to his feet and ran to have the quickest shower of his life before tearing through his closet, hoping to find something acceptable. He settled on a blue button-up shirt with darker blue stripes and painted-on denims. He reached for the black jacket and paused, instead snagging a classier-looking tan version. Adam had quite a selection of leather jackets, but he knew he looked best in the black one.
He quickly combed his hair, threw on a pair of shoes, and grabbed his wallet and phone before hurrying out to wait next to the curb. He had no desire to let Stephen see his cheap apartment, although the complex was newer and looked nice enough from the outside.
Adam frowned as he waited, watching each car drive by. He had forgotten to ask what sort of car Stephen drove, but he was not surprised when a sleek silver Audi pulled up to the curb. The window lowered slowly and Stephen leaned over to peer up at him.
"Need a ride, handsome?" he asked.
Adam grinned and opened the door before sliding onto the black leather seat. Damn, the car was amazing. Trust Stephen not to drive anything common, even a standard luxury car.
"Didn't want me to come inside?" Stephen asked. "Hiding a handsome roommate?"
Adam thought he caught a note of jealously--hoped he caught it, at least--and shook his head. "Hiding a horrible apartment," he admitted.
"I don't want you for your apartment," Stephen said.
"No? What do you want me for, then?" Adam purred.
Stephen leaned over and pulled Adam into a kiss, leaving little doubt about what he wanted Adam for.
"I see," Adam said weakly when Stephen pulled away, breathing heavily.
Stephen smiled, a bit smugly, but he deserved it, and put the car into gear. As the silver machine rolled into traffic, he asked, "Where do you want to go?"
Adam bit down on the obvious answer: Back to Stephen's house to screw like rabbits. He didn't want to seem like a sex fiend. Even though seeing Stephen in a form-fitting gray Henley shirt was doing strange things to Adam's libido, particularly after that kiss.
"I know a great local burger joint, but we'll have to eat in the car. They don't have tables."
"Or we could take it back to your place and eat there," Stephen countered.
Adam was torn between the mortification of having Stephen see his apartment and having Stephen in his apartment, inside of which resided his bedroom, and therein his bed.
"All right," he said and suppressed his anxiety as he gave Stephen directions.
