I know I've been incommunicado lately. *ducks* Finding a job, starting a new job, trying not to post pr0nz lest a random Google search by prospective employers scare them away. *laughs hysterically* Actually, everything I've been writing lately has been sent off elsewhere. I need to start writing something exclusively for my journal, don't I? *ponders*

Five AS/S fest drabbles
H/D Holidays!!!!!

Note for Number 8 above. I'm not sure how many of you knew Alex, whose LJ name was malachix (formerly malachic) but she was killed during Hurricane Ike and although I never met her in person, her loss affected me much more than I expected. It brought home the fact that even though I haven't physically met most of my LJ friends, I still cherish all of you and I feel your absence just as much when it's missing from the computer screen as when it's gone from next door or down the street. Alex was working on a fic for me when she disappeared and her friend Sam graciously forwarded her work-in-process as well as all the notes (including the final scene!) from the fic. I haven't had a chance to go through them yet, as I admit to feeling a rush of loss every time I open the file, but I definitely plan to finish the fic for her and, hopefully, do it in the spirit Alex had intended.

Now, since I know the last thing she would have wanted was for people to get all maudlin over her, I want to end on a happier note, so I urge everyone to check out the_ass_fest Winter Shorts. The drabbles have been delicious and cute and just short enough for a quick, satisfying read before you run back to the terrifying world of hp_darkfest. *shudders*

Also, abusing_sarcasm and I have tentatively (but for reals) decided to counter that bit of horror with happyfluffyschmoopylovefest in 2009. Or some such variation. Watch for it. *giggles madly*
