Fandom versus the Real World

I blipped onto Mirabella's blog the other day hoping by some astounding miracle that the next chapter of Shadow of His Wings would be loaded (har, you bloody optimist you!) and found her ranting about What Happens in Fandom Stays in Fandom. Frankly, she's brilliant, but she rants a helluva lot. Her current rant, about keeping the Real World separate from Fandom World got me thinking. How many of you out there have secret fandom lives?
Everyone knows I'm utterly Harry Potter obsessed, but not too many people know I'm Harry Potter SLASH obsessed, however, I really couldn't care less if people DID know. For me, the Real World and Fandom World aren't really separate entities. I mean, my real name is plastered all over everything I write. Anyone doing a bloody search on Google will pull up slash central. (I just did it, lol! Anyone looking for me will be in for a bit of a... shock. Oh, that's too funny!)
Anyway, I realize I have an unhealthy level of I-don't-give-a-damn-itis, and most people probably do keep their slash addictions hidden, but does it extend to a level where you freak if your stuff is linked to a non-fandom site? Do you think the Real World should be kept from Fandom World at all costs?
Enough random babbling. Back to having Harry pounce on Draco. And vice versa.
