Ever had one of those days where you wished you stayed in bed? Today has been the weirdest day of my life and believe it or not it all began with a cactus! So here I am - there's no way this day could get any worse, right?

SUMMARY: Robert Davis has an ordinary name, an ordinary job, and an ordinary life. Until the day his attractive neighbor thrusts a potted cactus into his hands, giving Bob his first hint that everything around him might actually be a little bit extraordinary. (Many thanks to my betas Byaghro and Rinny for beating this story into shape!)  This whole tale is a bit ridiculous, but just go with it, okay?  XD

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] enchanted_jae's brilliant suggestion, we created a community to host the gifts and well wishes for Nat and Marie.  At the moment, all of the posts will be visible only to members (so join if you want to see them), and we will unlock the comm to the public when Nat presents her gift.  Posting access is open, so feel free to post ALL THE THINGS to show your love for saras_girl and her fabulous bride-to-be.  I know we had a lot of "but I don't write or draw" comments on the last announcement and THAT IS NO LONGER A RESTRICTION.  WOOT!  :D

*happy sigh*

The comm:
[livejournal.com profile] wedding_eels

Comm's profile (just because I love it):

If you have any issues posting or have questions, please to be letting me know.  THANKS, EVERYONE!

ALSO, for anyone wanting to send physical gifts, if you are in the US (and Canada, probably) you can send them to me at the address listed in this post http://dysonrules.livejournal.com/257564.html and if you are in the UK or over that direction, you can send them to [livejournal.com profile] groolover.  Either PM her (or me) or email me and we will give you her address.

Hi everyone!  I have a special guest on my journal today for a super-sekrit announcement.  Without further adieu, I would like to welcome [livejournal.com profile] saras_girl.  I'm sure most of you already know her.  *grin*  I agreed to let her commandeer my journal because she's pretty sure a CERTAIN PERSON does not read my journal.  (Unbelievable, I know, but I suppose some people prefer to stay away from the insanity.)

Hello everyone. This is not my journal. I don’t belong here *looks around*

So, I suppose I should start by saying that this whole slightly odd thing I’m asking you to do is for Marie. For those of you who already know all about Marie, please forgive me. For those who don’t, this is Marie:

She is my partner in crime, my muse, and the thing that stops me from getting accidentally eaten by a shark whenever I have one of my strange episodes. She is the reason I continue to write, and, more often than not, the only person who can persuade me to finish a story when I’m convinced it’s rubbish. One way or another, I suppose, if you like my writing, you probably owe her a biscuit.

Anyway, the point is this – on 22nd September we are getting married, and I decided that what she’d really like as a wedding present [apart from the inevitable daft stuff I will end up buying] is some SLASH. Some wedding-related slash. Some lovely, HP, fluffy, weddingy slash.

Which is where you lovely people come in. Essentially, what I’m hoping to do is collect as many wee stories as I can, so that when we go on our honeymoon, I can spring them on her and hopefully make her smile. Because she is lovely, and she loves H/D, and she deserves it. I realise I could just write one long story myself [and perhaps I will, if I have time] but once I had this idea I got too overexcited to ignore it. I realise I’m asking you to spend time doing something for me, and I do feel a bit guilty about that, but I’m going to ask anyway, because sometimes you have to make an eejit of yourself for the person you love.

So, old beans, will you take part in Marie’s Super-Sekrit Wedding Mini-Fest?

- Stories should be ANY LENGTH. Tiny wee drabbles will be loved, War and Peace-length epics will be loved, and anything in between. Artses of ANY KIND will be loved.

- Stories/artses should have something to do with weddings. They could be about an actual wedding, or wedding planning, or a proposal, or anything like that. It could be Harry and Draco’s, or Ron and Hermione’s, or anyone’s, in fact, as long as it doesn’t mess with those two pairings, because I think that would make her confused and frowny.

- All Foundations!verse, Turn!verse, etc, original characters are available for use, should you want to include them.

- And, erm... in case this wasn’t apparent, it’s probably best if no one dies. Might bring down the mood a bit, I reckon.

There’s just under three months to go, and it would make Marie [and me!] so disgustingly happy if you’d scribble something down for us. I’m posting here so that Marie doesn’t accidentally stumble across it, but you can message me on LJ or email me at n_stawarski@hotmail.com if you want to rant at me, ask me questions, or send me anything lovely :) After the wedding, I will post all the stories and things on my journal so that everyone can read them [or not, if you don’t want me to, but we can work that out later.]

Hope this hasn’t been too presumptuous. Huge hopeful, sparkly squishes to all <3

Thanks for having me, Cheryl!

Nat x

So, there you have it!  I know many of you have felt the epic levels of GUH from reading the Foundations!verse and here is your chance to show just how much.  I AM EXCITE!!!  :D :D :D  Also, sorry to have been quiet for so long, but SMOOCHFEST.  And GLOMPFEST.  And ALL THE THINGS.  I shall return!  *quick hugs before running off again*

EDIT!!!!  THE WEDDING THEME IS AUTUMN!!!!   Also, if you think you have no talent (or simply have no TIME) you can send postcards or well wishes to me and I will forward them all in a big bundle so they don't trickle in and make someone suspicious.  BWAHAHAHA  Hmmm, I hope the post doesn't take a billion years.  I should probably mail by mid-August just to be safe, yes?

Many thanks to everyone putting lovely Euro boys on my profile!  :D  I am particularly fond of Greece for REASONS.  *many huggles and snuggles*

Off to post Smoochfest and then get back to the nine bajillion other things I need to do today.  LIKE FINISH A FIC.  WHAT WOULD THAT BE LIKE, I WONDER?  *tears at hair*

There has been much kerfluffle over ff.net yanking M-rated stories without warning.  I've received several frantic messages from people there, so yes, I am aware of the issue.  Frankly, I've always expected to be banned and have my stuff pulled from ff.net because I very blatantly violate their "no explicit content" rules.  (Mainly because when I first started posting I never actually read the rules and figured I was safe using an M rating.)  *cough*  To me, mature means mature and why have that rating if that's not really what it means?  I don't even know.  But whatever.  I don't get the point of ratings, anyway.  People will read what they want to read and putting it behind a little 18+ clicky box isn't going to make a bit of difference.

Anyway, with that said, I only ever post there after I post my fics on LJ, so they are always on LJ first and foremost.  Many of my links point to the ff.net version (which is failsauce, because now I have to go back through all my boatloads of tagged fics) just because it was easy.  I will, eventually, move everything to AO3 - I don't have that many there since I'm trying to edit them first and make the AO3 versions all pretty and nice.

I will be sad to lose my reviews, but I have backed up MANY.  For the couple of really old fics whose whereabouts I can't currently place, I backed those up, also.  I used the site below, which worked like an amazing thing of amazingness.  It lets you backup both fics and reviews in several different formats.  It's SO COOL to see the reviews in PDF format!  I would totally use it for downloading and reading if I had a fancy reading device thingy.

So, that's where that sits.  I'm actually curious to see if they do delete some and, if so, which ones.  Because I have MANY.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] hd_fan_fair starts prompting tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  EXCITE!!!

My crazy job idea spreadsheet made it to 100.  :D

Most of you already know that [livejournal.com profile] hd_smoochfest has begun posting! WOOT!  We opened with one of the longest fics because it is awesome.  READ IT!!!!  I can't wait until the guessing poll to see how many of you figure out who wrote it.  BWAHAHAHA  There was some discussion about breaking up the longer fics, but I'm feeling lazy this year and plan to post them in one long lump.

Also, there will be no rhyme or reason to the posting schedule due to my WTF? schedule these days, so check back frequently or track the comm to get notifications.

In other news, I had a surprise visit from [livejournal.com profile] katelinmr yesterday.  Mostly surprise on her part because our mutual friend, Ginger Bishie, was conspiring with me to glomp her on the train.  :D  Hiiii, Katelin!  Hope you're having a good time in Seattle!  We need to wean her away from Starbucks and point her towards more awesome coffee.  I think GB is working on that.  It's always fun to meet fangirls and talk fic, fic, fic!  And art.  And fandom. *waves banners*

Facebook SIMS has a quest with WINGS as a prize.  I AM FREAKING OBSESSED.  *CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK*  Stupid bastard stupid game.  I do NOT have time for this.  But... I MUST GET THE WINGS.

THANK YOU, EVERYONE, FOR MY LOVELY BIRTHDAY WISHES!!!!  I will make a specific THANKY post hopefully tomorrow.

Since today is my actualfax birthday (more on that later because WOW YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!) I wanted to rec a fic written by someone I used to shamelessly fangirl from afar, and I now STALK LIKE A STALKING THING THAT STALKS BUT IS NOT A PANTHER OR A TIGER OR CORN because she is made of all the amazing things, (including seven feet of ginger) and I still fangirl her shamelessly from afar only because if I shipped myself to her it would take SEVEN MONTHS via the slowest mail service known to mankind and I would starve.  But I digress.  And I haven't even started the birthday drinking yet.  ANYWAY, I love everything she has written, including the most amazing Inception fic ever, but I first fell madly in love with her because of this series.  I envy her ability to pack so much emotion and tension and GUH into every scene.  This story obviously began with pure porn in mind, but developed into something so much deeper and more layered with each passing installment.  (And still managed to be hot as hell.)

Is the part in red correct?

“...I loosed an arrow that did little damage.  The bow is not my best weapon, and my whip...” she lifted a length of leather he had seen coiled at her hip, “is not much use against a lion.”

If "she" is capitalized it looks wrong.  Anyone?  Alternatives?  I know I could rewrite the damn thing with the action at the end, but I like the visual of her pausing in the midst of the comment.  Help me, Obi Wan!

(I really can coil my hair into donuts over my ears.  It's fun!)

EDIT:  You guys are awesome!  I'm going with:  “...I loosed an arrow that did little damage.  The bow is not my best weapon, and my whip—” she lifted the length of leather he had seen coiled at her hip, “—is not much use against a lion.”

I have been meaning to make another post for DAYS!  D: D: D:  Between meetings, and work, and Smoochfest, and helping my mother pack for her move across the country, and trying to edit a chapter of my book a day (35 left to go!) I haven't been online much.  There were even two full days I was WITHOUT.  MY.  LAPTOP.  In hindsight, I think I'll bring that with me next time and leave clothing at home.

ANYWAY, on to the reccing!  Since I'm skipping around all over the place, I figured I'd post an AU.  Although, granted, most EWE fics are technically AU since we all ignore canon, but I tend to think of AUs as putting the boys into a completely different world.  In this case, Draco is a college student and Harry teaches a ceramics class, but I love it because they are still very recognizable as our boys.  Plus it's just a damn gorgeous story.  :D  Also, Tom Riddle as a college adviser makes me LOL.

I'll get back to my recs as soon as I figure out what the next one will be.  SO MANY CHOICES!  Anyway, I was tagged by [livejournal.com profile] shuga34 and I haven't actually posted a random question meme in awhile.

Rule 1 - Post the rules
Rule 2- Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then make 11 new ones.
Rule 3- Tag 11 people and link them to your post.
Rule 4- Let them know you’ve tagged them!

  1. Do you believe in reincarnation? If yes, when have you lived?  Sometimes.  My beliefs tend to change from day to day, but I have felt deja-vu and once I had a dream that felt more like a memory.  I was living in a rather desolate village and had an older brother (?!) and it was raided by men on horseback who killed everyone and torched the place.  So, yeah, that might be one of the places if reincarnation is real.  LOVELY, ISN’T IT?  LOL!  I certainly was not royalty.  I also have an affinity for ancient Rome or Greece (peasant or slave there, probably) and the Scottish highlands.  It’s almost like a sense of recognition that I don’t feel for other places in the world – does that even make sense?
  1. What are your favorite pizza toppings?  Extra sauce, mushrooms and black olives.  I’ll eat just about anything on pizza, really.
  1. Cats, dogs or goldfish? Why?  I am NOT a pet person, thanks to growing up with a pet-obsessed father.  We had ALL THE ANIMALS growing up and I vowed to have nothing hairy in my life when I became an adult.  Plus I can barely keep my own children alive.  A pet would have no chance.  “It’s been three weeks – did anyone feed that animal-thing?”  I guess if I had to have a pet I would choose a cat because they are fairly self-sufficient and will claw their way outside and eat a bird if they have to.
  1. If Ty Pennington turned up on your doorstep with an offer for an Extreme Home Makeover, would you say "yes"?  No.  The taxes alone would bankrupt me.  I’ve seen way too many stories where they build these amazing houses for people who then cannot even afford the increased electric bills and end up having to sell.  I wouldn’t turn down a few gallons of paint, though.  :D
  1. What is your first memory of Kindergarten?  Colouring pictures and eating those molasses-type cookies shaped like windmills.  They still make those!  I saw some not too long ago and was instantly transported back to five years old.
  1. What was your best vacation ever?  Going to Dragon Con in Atlanta and meeting up with BFFs and seeing Tom Felton and just hanging out with awesome people.  A close second was going to Azkatraz in San Francisco and meeting fandom people for the very first time.  That was an amazing experience.
  1. Have you ever traveled outside of your country?  Only to Canada and Mexico.  This needs to be remedied.  Hopefully next year.
  1. Star Trek -- The Original Series or The Next Generation?  Wow, that’s actually a tough one.  I think I like TNG better because the writing seems more sophisticated.  I like the plots better, but I love love love the snarkiness of ToS, especially the interaction between Kirk, Bones, and Spock.  That doesn’t really happen in TNG.  I don’t see that level of chemistry between any of the cast members.
  1.  Have you ever met a celebrity? Who?  No.  I’ve seen Tom Felton, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and some other big names, but I’m not much of a star-chaser.  I just sort of nodded at Tom Felton from across the table.  No hand shaking or photo-ops.
  1. Glee or Smash?  I have never heard of Smash and not watched a single episode of Glee, so… neither?  XD
  1. Why ARE all the good men married, buried or gay?*  LOL!  I wish I knew, bebe.  I wish I knew.

Okay, wow, 11 people.  I’m taking the first 11 commenters from one of my posts.  BWAH!  That will teach you to talk to me.  :D  Let’s go with [livejournal.com profile] citrus_lime, [livejournal.com profile] ginger_veela, [livejournal.com profile] skifazoa, [livejournal.com profile] geneva2010, [livejournal.com profile] vaysh11, [livejournal.com profile] jtsbbsps_dk, [livejournal.com profile] ellecc, [livejournal.com profile] alisanne, [livejournal.com profile] queenie_mab, [livejournal.com profile] themostepotente, and [livejournal.com profile] subtlefire

  1. What is your favourite fic (in any fandom) and why?
  2. Coffee or tea?
  3. Do you remember a special teacher?  Who and why?
  4. Have you been anywhere tropical?  If yes, would you want to live there or just visit?
  5. First book you can remember reading?
  6. Did you ever kiss anyone in the rain?
  7. Not including Halloween, have you ever dressed in costume in public?
  8. Tie preference:  Wide, narrow, string, bow or other?
  9. What colour and style are your underwear right now (assuming you are wearing them – yes, I had to go there)?
  10. Do you prefer a hard or soft mattress?
  11. Favourite board game?

Time to go do actual things now.  *glomps everyone*  And a random note:  If you ever send me a PM asking actual questions, please make sure you have your PM turned ON.  Makes replying kind of difficult otherwise.  JUST SAYIN'.

I've been following this on and off all day.  There were two pages of comments when I started and now there are FIVE.  I'm only up to page three (the article itself is interesting, but the comments have sucked me in).  So many amazing, intelligent, and insightful people {and a few of the other kind} that it's a bit humbling to read and I have to stop for the night, but WOW.  If you need argument fodder for any of the idiots you know, you can find all sorts of it here.

I'm not a huge fan of creature fics.  I like people and adding elements that make people non-people usually creates too much "otherness" for me to fully relate to the characters and I tend not to enjoy them as much.  I was not even going to read this when it came through Hols, because that's just how much I don't like creature fics.  I'm pretty sure [livejournal.com profile] taradiane said something along the lines of reeeeeeaaaaadddd iiiiiiittttttt and so I grudgingly gave it a chance.  Needless to say, I was blown away.  When anyone asks me for a creature fic rec, I have a very very limited pool to choose from and this one is at the top of the stack.

This fic almost feels like watching a film on fast forward, pausing only long enough to catch short glimpses of Harry's life, but those glimpses are so full of emotion that by the end you feel you've seen the whole film and lived every moment of it along with him.  Beautifully done.  THIS FANDOM.  SO MUCH TALENT.  *so proud*

So, it's my BIRTHMONTH and you're probably wondering why I haven't been FLAILING ABOUT IT LIKE THE COMPLETE LOON THAT I AM because I'm slightly obsessed with cake my birthday.  IT'S BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT OF THINGS.

1) Coughing.  This has taken up the majority of my time for the past 30+ days and also sucked 90% of my motivation.  DNW.

2) Job Interview.  I got a random "We saw your resume..." ping and answered it and OMG I WANT TO WORK AT THIS PLACE SO BLOODY BADLY, I CAN'T EVEN.  *crosses all the things*  It would be so strange to work at a place with values again, rather than a company whose core qualities I find increasingly questionable.  One amusing moment during the interview: "There is a blogging site called Livejournal..." I had to literally clamp my jaw shut to avoid spilling my fannish guts all over the table.  *grin*  Instead I went for a vaguely interested, "ORLY?".  Of course, this place is totally savvy enough to simply Google me, so if that happens I'm outed anyway.  I am considering f-locking this entry because of that.  (I totally wrote f-licking right there, which I know some of you would be totally fine with, so... sign up for that if you like.)  *snickers*  My sole concession to separation of fandom/real life is to never mention the name of my place of employment online, just in case they don't want to be associated with my epic love of boys kissing boys.  There is no mention of my current employer on Facebook, Twitter, or any of my blogs.  As a random aside, there is another Cheryl Dyson that lives, not even kidding, a few miles from here.  I should track her down and introduce myself one day.  "HELLO, GOOD TWIN, NICE TO MEET YOU."  She would love that, I am sure.  XD  I said I considered f-locking this, but in the end I just can't and still feel like myself.  NEVER HIDE.  <--- have you seen that Ray Ban ad?  I will buy Ray Bans FOREVER now. <3  Wow, did that ever turn into randomness.  I love LJs new spoiler tags.

3) Writing.  YES, I AM STILL DOING THIS.  Not as much as I want to and need to, of course.  I spent a month editing my actualfax novel because it's going online soon.  I was shooting for June 1st, but it looks like July 1st is more rational as the website is being tweaked and I really need to edit the first book so I can repost it.  *endless blather, etc*  I also wrote an original story for the Goodreads writing fest - I'll link that puppy as soon as it goes up in June or July.  [livejournal.com profile] arineat also wrote a LOVELY story with two adorable characters.

1) Reading [livejournal.com profile] jordan_c_price's new novel because of the cover and the title.  (She posted a cover teaser QUITE some time ago and I knew I was going to buy it the instant it hit the web.)  I'm on chapter seven and I'm already wanting to rescue her poor MC, WHY YOU GOTTA TORTURE THE POOR BOY LIKE THAT, JCP???  Also, his potential love interest has already hooked me hard and we don't even know his NAME yet.  He is incredibly mysterious and how about I just keep gushing about this book, m'kay?  NO SPOILERS, DYSON, STOPPIT.  Go get it, peoples.  HERE.

2) Glompfest.  I have about four paragraphs of my Glompfest fic written, but I already love it.  :D  I think there are more prompts open, so run over there and grab one, okay?  And friend the comm to follow the fest if you haven't.  CLICKY.

3) RECS.  I'm still pondering my next rec.  SO MANY FICS.  I'll try to post one today.

4) ANOTHER RANDOM THING.  After all the hoopla over LJ's SCRAPBOOK policy thing, I signed up for the "early move" and they shifted all 521 (!!!!!!!!) of my pics to the new whatever.  So far I haven't seen a single broken link and everything looks lovely, so... um, something they did is actually okay?  I don't know, but I used LJ almost exclusively for my photo storage (521 OMG) so I was flipping out a bit, but it looks like ALL IS WELL.  I hope.

5) Smoochfest.  We have MANY fics (and gorgeous art!) submitted and I need to buckle down and start reading and sorting.  Last year was the WRITE ALL THE WORDS epic fest, but it looks like most of them are coming in at a more manageable 10k to 20k so we won't break your brains with an inability to read ten million words.  LOL!  And the THEME this year has produced some awesome, awesome things, even with shorter word counts.  (Which isn't to say they are ALL shorter - BWAHAHA.)

6) The HP Fanfic Fan Poll Awards (that is one bloody long title!).  Some lovely person nominated In Pieces for BEST ROMANCE and I can't even tell you how chuffed I am about that.  *beams*  Have a banner.  (I LOVE LEGOS!)

Overview FAQ / How to Vote

Voting period: May 1st - June 30th, 2012
Winners announced: by July 15th, 2012

7) The HP Podfic Fest - HOW FREAKING AWESOME IS THAT?  Everyone always has blanket permission to podfic my stuff, but now it's official on that site.  There can never be enough podfic.  If you're interested at all podficcing or having your fics read, go here!  (Have another banner.)

8) Will someone please stop me from redecorating my boys' houses on FB SIMS?  It's addicting as hell and takes HOURS that I should be writing.  Seriously, two hours wasted last night selecting new floors and wallpaper for Hugo's revised house.  I should be banned.  (I really want to add a second bathroom to Char's house because it's almost perfect but could really use a half-bath...)

There is probably more that I've forgotten, but I REALLY need to freaking write something, so I'll stop blathering and get back to that.  It's Cinco de Mayo and I HAVE TEQUILA!  WOOHOO!!!  (Not drinking it yet - it's only 8am.  Even I'm not that hardcore.)  XD

Was that enough babbling, GEEZ?  Oh and one more thing - do you prefer the spoiler cut or the actual LJ cut?  I'm lazy so when I'm reading I actually really like the spoiler cut when reading my f-list, since it opens right there and I don't have to go to a new window/tab.

This one is a special rec because TODAY IS HER BIRTHDAY!  WOOT!  :D  I know she has written a gozillion fics and several of them are more popular than this one, but this is the one of hers that I love the most.

This Draco is practical and confident, and seems to be perfectly content with how his life has turned out.  He skillfully juggles his career, his son, his ex-wife, and his friends with a minimum of drama.  Everything is just fine for him.  Until Harry enters his life.  Although I like Draco in this fic, I love Harry.  Despite the fact that it's written in first person and Draco's POV, she does an amazing job exposing Harry's traits, from almost-shy uncertainty to determination, to ultra-hot Auror confidence, and finally jealousy.  Through it all he has a sense of humour that chips away at Draco and makes it easy to understand how Draco can fall so hard so quickly.  The time they spend together (not just the sex) is glorious.  I always hate when they sleep with other people, but in this fic it's sort of necessary for Draco to understand that you can never go back, only onward.

Warnings: Sort of infidelity?  It's 98% epilogue compliant, although that Greengrass person was replaced with someone more interesting (and frankly, awesome).  :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FEMME!!!!  *pops champagne*  I was supposed to be writing today and instead spent all afternoon reading this again.  *shakes fist*  Also, stop being mean to my Pansy.  >:(  She deserves better than the losers you always saddle her with, SHE IS SORRY FOR TRYING TO SELL HARRY TO VOLDEMORT, OKAY?  Shut up, Harry.

Our recommendation today is brought to you by the Department of Oh-My-GUH.  Since my last rec was five bazillion words long, I figured I would rec some shorter things to tide you over in between reading the Monster Fic of Monsters.  (aka really long fics)

If you haven't already read this you must be either new to the H/D fandom or living with your parents under a rock.  I've read it probably 75 times.  XD  (76 if you count this morning.)

Anyway, why this fic?  SEX MAGIC!  FUCKING AWESOME HARRY!  NAKED DRACO BOUND TO A PILLAR!  I don't think it needs any more hype than that, really.  ONWARD!

This next rec is actually two fics, but you can't really read one without the other because it's a ginormous saga of awesome.  Most of my prior recs have been angsty as hell, followed by a very satisfying ending.  This series is more of a slow-building love affair that, for me, expands and enriches the world created by JKR and follows our boys into adulthood and maturity.

Harry no longer has boyhood problems, but grownup problems.  He has a new job and new friends, new irritants and new enemies.  I love that his conflicts are not caused by an overwhelming evil wizard trying to destroy him, but instead by a terrible supervisor, a stressful workload, and the added complication of an old nemesis who isn't quite what he expected.

And Draco.  *happy sigh*  Draco has his own problems and it seems like nothing he does will ever be quite good enough, and yet HE JUST KEEP TRYING.  [livejournal.com profile] saras_girl throws these two amazing adults together and they start out just prickly enough to be interesting.  And then they get to be friends.  And finally more than friends.  Their journey from former enemies to lovers is SO FUCKING GORGEOUS that this entire fic is like wrapping yourself up in a warm blanket of GUH.  There are so many tiny things that made me sigh with bliss (the word "yes", the damned STRING, and the OMFG napkin rings, not to mention various office supplies...)  NOW I WANT TO READ IT AGAIN.  AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Title: Reparations and Foundations

Words: Many.  So very many I won't even say it.
Warnings: This could be the exact opposite of angst.

Anyway, if you haven't read this amazing epic, just DO IT.  It is truly amazing.

I know I've already recced this fic, but I'm putting it on the official 100 list because it's the only one that has caused to start a collection of THINGS in real life.  I now have four cobalt vases (and look for new ones EVERY TIME I GO INTO A STORE).  You probably know what fic this is just from that, but in case you don't WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR GO READ IT RIGHT THE HELL NOW!!!!

I mainly love this not just because it was written for ME but also because it contains one of those key scenes I love to mull over in my head when I'm supposed to be working.  THE PANTRY SCENE, YOU KNOW IT.  The whole story is so freaking heartbreaking and I just love Draco's eternal faithfulness, something that fic writers usually don't give to Draco, which made it all the more special.  I also ADORED Ron and Hermione in this, particularly Ron.  *hearteyes forever*  He is another one whose personality is sometimes shoved into the background, but he absolutely shines in this fic.  Harry's skittishness in this story is so terrible (and believable) and I found myself understanding why he reacted the way he did even while shaking the computer and screaming at him to go back to Draco where he belonged.  And then, of course, there are the cobalt vases.  *wibbles*
